For those patients that require advanced levels of care during transport, a Specialty Care Transport Unit is available for inter-facility transfers on both a scheduled and emergency basis.  This unit is staffed 24 hours a day and 7 days a week with a registered nurse who is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.  In addition most are certified and specialize in Critical or Emergency care in the mobile environment.  Patients that require advanced care such as constant intra-venous medications, cardiac monitoring, ventilator support, an Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump can all be transported in this unit.
