Mobile Intensive Care units are manned 24 hours a day by Paramedics. These individuals undergo an intensive program of study covering all areas of emergency cardiac care and trauma management. They are also certified by the American Heart Association in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Continuous training updates these dedicated individuals to state-of-the-art technology.
In addition to Basic Life Support skills, the Paramedic can perform complex diagnosis and medical procedures: cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, administration of specific medications and solutions, initiation of IV therapy and intubation. By bringing these professionals quickly and directly to the ill or injured patient, morbidity and mortality are greatly reduced.
Our Paramedics operate under a combination of Standing Orders and On-Line Medical Command. Medical Command is provided by Board Certified Emergency Physicians via a state of the art Carepoint communications system that includes voice, telemetry (single & 12- lead) and is even able to receive pictures from the field.
